pubdate: 2019/04/28 views:

Have you ever thought that you can experience the cultures of different countries without leaving your home, and you can taste the delicious food of different ethnic groups within a short distance? On the afternoon of April 27th, the mini expo was held in our cafe. It attracted the enthusiastic participation of students from all over Xiang’an campus. In the midst of laughter, fun games and mouth-watering food, Chinese and international students deepened their understanding of each other's folk customs and enjoyed a colorful multi-dimensional cultural feast.

In front of the Dutch pavilion, the sweet-smelling Dutch pancakes immediately attracted the students. Drizzled with a spoonful of honey as if wrapped in amber, the slightly toasted and fluffy pancake, with its egg aroma and honey of agreeable sweetness, would stimulate your taste buds. Pancake maker Weiwei said she was happy to bring Dutch food to China and hoped everyone would like it.

Each step brings a different surprise. In the Thailand pavilion, the sour, hot and fresh aroma was constantly escaping from a large pot boiling with bright soup. As long as students finished the assigned game, they could enjoy the delicious food in the pot. The crispy Fried chicken is drizzled with a special Thai chutney sauce and swallowed in one gulp, it would leave you a long aftertaste. Wang Zhaohui, a student from the international college, made no secret of his love for Thai food during the interview. Thai food really surprised me. I think it is a rare experience to taste the world's delicious food in the activity. At the booth of Minnan (South Fujian), the students in charge of cooking carefully put the vinegar meat into the oil pot. The flour-coated meat was very crispy and, because it was previously marinated in vinegar, it had a slightly tart, but not greasy, taste. Here, you can answer questions about history of South Fujian, improving your understanding of the culture of Minnan people, and tasting the special food.

The Korean pavilion's specialty was ramen. Add one or two pieces of bright red kimchi to a light white noodle soup and you would be thrilled with the color and texture. At the booth of South Korea, Wang Siyao expressed his love for Korean food and local customs, and appreciated the school for holding such an activity. He believed that the mini-expo would not only allow participants to enrich their knowledge, but also enable students from different countries to know each other and cultivate friendship.

Next to the Korean pavilion was the Bengali pavilion, where students were rewarded for success in the challenge of throwing a ball into a designated box by large amounts of chicken curry, golden prawn crackers and crispy potato chips. The delicious food was enjoyed in the lively atmosphere of the game, and drizzled with a little hot and bright tomato sauce, which was just the flavor of Bangladesh.

The Japanese pavilion served a light diet with Japanese characteristics. Wrapped in dark green seaweed, rice balls of different colors had different flavors. After the rice ball, you could try the famous miso soup from Japan. The pot was boiling with a yellowish soup, and small potatoes and turnips floated up and down. Rice ball with miso soup brought people simple but substantial happiness. The creator of the rice ball was a Japanese student named Osamu. In the interview, he expressed his gratitude to the students who tried the food.

Then to the Sudan pavilion, where the Sudanese student Yao Le was boiling lentil soup while adding tomato sauce to the pot, or adding a small pinch of chili sauce, as well as the most sincere smile on his face. The potatoes and carrots have melted into the soup to thicken the base.

The vegetarian dishes at the India pavilion were made with mashed potatoes and diced vegetables of various colors fried in a pan. This made people realize that the integration of different cultures can create a more diversified and beautiful international environment, just as different delicious combinations can create better delicious food.

In this year's mini expo, students from eight countries carefully arranged their own booths, displaying their culture with unique elements such as gorgeous national costumes, exquisite handicrafts and delicious food. This not only provided a platform for students from different countries to display their own culture, but also allowed students to experience the culture and cuisine of other countries in a fun and relaxing atmosphere, which greatly expanded their horizons.

Every form of beauty has its uniqueness; what is precious is to appreciate other forms of beauty with openness. If beauty represents itself with diversity and integrity, the world will be blessed with harmony and unity. The Overseas Education/International College now has nearly 700 students from 87 countries. Internationalization is the most eye-catching label of the school. Mini expo has become one of the brand activities held by the college every year. As an innovative form of education, it is committed to enriching the beneficial exploration of students in the second classroom. It not only effectively promotes the sharing of international resources between Chinese and international students, but also promotes the exchanges and integration of cultures of different countries.
