On the afternoon of March 11, 2019, the International College held a semester work arrangement meeting. The party and government leaders and all faculty members attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Wu Weiping, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy.

Secretary Wang Yi first read the approval of the school's appointment of the new leadership team of the Chinese Language Department of the Overseas Education College.

Dean Tao Tao expressed warm congratulations on the establishment of the new team. He pointed out that this group was selected by the faculty and staff of the Overseas Education College, which will take responsibility of the development of the Chinese language department. He required the team to be closely united, research more, communicate more, learn more, and take more responsibility. Tao Tao hoped that all the faculty and staff of the Chinese Department could cooperate and support their work.

Dean Tao then fully deployed the work of the college. He said that this semester college will seriously carry out rectification according to the university's inspection and feedback, speed up to standardize the work of the college, especially for the research and teaching, and further strengthen the academic standard. He also emphasized that the Overseas Education College/International College is a teaching-oriented college, and the standard of teaching work is the guarantee of the college's first-class international education construction. In this semester, the college should first do a good job in re-examination of graduate student to ensure the smooth progress of work. Besides, the International College should fully prepare for the evaluation of the AD project, promote the construction of the project to be more perfect. The two colleges should complete the revision of various training programs in this semester. It is necessary to use the first-class professional training program as the reference. The future teaching of the college should be in a high level.

Dean Tao pointed out that the preparation of the School of Creative and Innovation of Xiamen University is a major work in this semester, and it is also an important task in the construction of “Double First-Class” university. Our college has been entrusted by the university to take the lead in preparations since last year. The college will go all out to do the work well and live up to the expectations of the school. He also mentioned that the college has been improving the working environment of teachers and students. The college office is responsible for the renovation of the underground garage of the college this winter vacation. The task was completed excellently under the circumstance of short construction period. He believes that with the joint efforts of the faculty and staff of the college, the college will certainly be better and better!

Vice President Fu Wanli made the arrangement of teaching and research work of this semester. She detailed the situation of students in the college, affirmed the achievements of the college in student training, teacher skill competition, excellent college summer camp, etc., and proposed the future vision. She hoped all teachers could actively participate in scientific research and teaching reform projects, using new teaching tools such as MOOC to raise the level of scientific research and teaching. Dean Fu also pointed out that the college would strengthen the teaching supervision work, seriously deal with the abnormal situation of teaching, and require all the faculty and staff to strengthen their responsibility and work together in the teaching management of the college.

Vice dean Huang Guanhua arranged the foreign affairs and enrollment work for the semester. She pointed out that international cooperation and exchanges are an important part of the university's Double First-class construction. The college should actively introduce talents, and at the same time actively establish cooperative relations with internationally renowned universities to encourage foreign teachers and students to spread Chinese voice. She reviewed the breakthroughs that the college has made in the enrollment affairs in recent years, pointing out that the enrollment work is inseparable from the support of the teacher team, and makes a brief analysis and prospects for the challenges and opportunities faced by the college enrollment work.

Wang Yi, secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy, made an overall deployment of the party committee work during the semester. First, we must promote the political and ideological work in a hierarchical manner and sub-category. Secondly, we should implement the one post and two responsibilities and continue constructing the party's work style and clean government. Moreover, we must strengthen the standardization of the branch and improve the quality of grassroots party building; Actively implement rectification. We should also deepen the construction of education platform and improve the level of student management services. Furthermore, we must do well in campus security and stability. Finally, we should keep promoting the development of the party.

The new journey starts, the faculty and staff of the whole college will be guided by Xi Jinping's thought of a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and fully implement the spirit of the National Education Conference and the 26th National Party Building Work Conference, so that we can deepen the reform, be brave in taking responsibility, act positively, improve management of colleges with more standardized management, and strive to write a new chapter in the End of Struggle for international education, and accelerate the promotion of double first-class construction.
