Joint Education in Our School "Released" First Group of Graduates, around Seventy Percent further Study in the World's Tops

This year, our school foreign cooperative education project usher in the first batch of graduates, of which 44.8% of the students chose the direct employment; and another 51.9% chose to continue their studies master's degree. Nearly seventy percent choose to go abroad to continue their studies in the world's top 100 universities. International School graduates are widely recognized by social and foreign universities for their excellent English language skills and comprehensive ability.

Our school Foreign Cooperative Education Project was officially approved by the Ministry of Education in July 2010 and the International Institute is responsible for teaching and management. This project is our first time to run the Chinese-foreign cooperative education project since our school is listed in the national plan (key universities) , and it is also our school's existing undergraduate level Sino-foreign cooperative education program.

  Our school foreign cooperative education project introduces American Kaplan Education Group advanced teaching content, teaching methods and management experience,in the aspects of grafting its teaching resources, updating teaching philosophy, international teaching practices, professional international capabilities, student-led ways of learning, the development of intercultural communicative competence, international view of American culture and so on according to Kaplan Education Group set up ,so that students don’t need to go abroad but are able to achieve "study" purposes, receive international quality education resources, innovate internationalization talents training mode.

  Kaplan Education Group in the United States was established in 1938, it has developed into one of the world's largest education group. Kaplan opened more than 600 teaching centers in over 30 countries around the world, provided educational services for more than one million students each year. Through active collaboration with world-renowned Kaplan Education Group Dublin Business School, our school foreign cooperative education project not only trained a group of economic management talents with an international perspectives, who were familiar with international finance and international accounting standards after four years of careful implementation, but also to expand Our school breadth and depth of international exchange and cooperation.


Training professional financial accounting talents

According to Chinese enterprises are facing a shortage of professionals in the international financial and accounting issues, International College makes reasonable adjustments, professional settings and teaching programs to form the social demanding talents training system. Joint Education Project Education uses a task-based teaching, case teaching, practice teaching, teaching studios, which are conducive to stimulate students' teaching ability of independent thinking and innovation, and to try to allow students have independent way of learning, such as a personal report, panel discussions, social practice survey, simulated case studies help students to enhance self-learning, self-analysis, the ability to solve problems independently. students in this  project were awarded the third prize in the  "KPMG Cup" Management Case Competition in Xiamen University Division Area.

Meanwhile, well-known scholars from Universities UK, USA, Germany, Australia, Ireland, Taiwan and other countries and regions participated in the teaching among my school foreign cooperative education projects. These scholars not only have a strong academic background and a good level of cross-cultural communication, but also experts have extensive experience and insights of the relevant industry sectors and industries, and not just ordinary teacher who only win the foreign doctorate degree. Quality teachers help students to expand their horizons of globalization, to enhance the international expertise and ability to innovate, to become internationally competitive professionals.

It is particularly worth mentioning as a member of the United States Kaplan Education Group, Dublin Business School is one of Ireland's first school was awarded the ACCA Platnum Approved Learning Partner, which is the highest honor awarded issued by ACCA. All school degrees are recognized ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), and CPA (Certified Public Accountants). The undergraduate courses in accounting and finance professional accounting association received the largest number of recognition and exemptions by the Association of Accounting technicians. Last year, our school first group of students who went to Dublin Business School to study Accounting and Finance courses had been given ACCA nine subjects exemption  treatment.

Prominent Effect of Language Education

The overall English proficiency of the students in International College is very good. Among those graduates of the Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education Project, There is no lack of students who have got 8 points in this year’s IELTS test. Each year, about 300,000 candidates take part in the IELTS examination in China. However, no more than 100 of them get 8 points. Students who get 8 points in IELTS can apply for the OFFER of those top universities around the world. In previous years, students in International College have ever achieved excellent results of 8.5 points in the IELTS. In addition, the IELTS scores of most students have reached more than 6.5 points. Even a large number of them obtain 7 points and 7.5 points.

As for the big language problem of our Chinese students who plan to study abroad, International College has established a group of teachers who have rich experience in language teaching. Among those teachers, some have the qualification of IELTS examiners. Through the curriculum reformation of English education, the college has increased English Infiltration Course, Academic English and a series of Advanced English Courses of listening, speaking, reading and Writing.The body of the course system mainly includes Specialized English courses and Supplementary course of Academic English. And according to different English proficiency of students, the college offers them with personalized guidance, set up an award named "High IELTS Scores" to inspire them, organization extracurricular activities such as "one to one" language activities with overseas students and create a good language environment so as to help students improve their English levels.

High Rate of Enrollment & Employment

By far, among those graduates who choose to continue their further studies, about 70 percent of graduates who take part in the Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education Projects of our school have entered the top 100 universities for further study according to the ranking results of world university during the school year from 2014 to 2015 putting forward by Times’ Higher Education. These universities include Oxford University in England, Columbia University in the United States, King's College of London University, Australian National University, University of Manchester in the UK, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Glasgow University in the UK. 15 students of them were admitted to the top eight group of universities in Australia such as University of Sydney, Melbourne University, University of New South Wales Australia and so on. Among those graduates who choose to be employed, nearly 85% of them successfully enter the DDT, KPMG, PWC and so on which belong to the Big Four International Accounting Firms, and banking, securities and other financial institutions and the world's top 500 multinational corporations or other large state-owned enterprises.

Up to June 2015, the International College has supplied more than 2,400 students of the 10th graduates to study abroad. They may study in the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Japan, Australia, Canada, Singapore, HongKong and other countries or regions. Among those 2400 graduates, each of them has the experience of studying abroad. From this point of view, the International College has the highest degree of internationalization among all the colleges of Xiamen University.
