On the morning of April 20, Olivier Blanc, the teacher of Winchester school of art of University of Southampton came to our college for interviewed the 2013 students. All of the interviewees prepared sample reels elaborately to show their artistic foundation and strength. Different majors have different requirements of the sample reels. For example, the major of clothing design should prepare ready0made clothes works, the major of dynamic image must prepare video works, while the major of plane design need to prepare multiple series of graphic works. During the interview, students should explain the details of the theme of works, working process, first draft, semi-finished products, material as well as tailor and so on. Olivier combined the students’ sketchbook and portfolio and paid much attention to students’ creative process.

After the interview, interviewer accepted and thought highly of the students’ works. Olivier said, when choosing students, Winchester School of Art of University of Southampton not only pay attention to students’ works, but also consider students’ observing ability, innovation ability, exploring spirit, self-management and personal planning and so on.

Then the interviewer had a discussion with art major freshmen. Olivier introduced the curriculum provision, teacher preparation, hardware facilities and so on in Winchester School of Art of University of Southampton in detail. Students also asked some questions which they were interested, such as accommodation environment, scholarship, graduation exhibition etc.
