June 6 to 7, Dean of the Overseas Education College and International College Zheng Tong Tao, Director of the Office Huang Guanhua and Art Project teacherof the International College Wang Xiangmin visited Taipei University of Education, to dwell on the academic exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, and the formal signing of academic exchange and cooperation agreement was conducted.

During the visit, Dean Zheng made a talk in Taipei University of Education on the status of mainland Chinese Teachers Training, andcarried out academic discussion with Dean Yan Guoming, College of Arts and Humanities Taipei University of Education, and Xin Shichang, professor of Chinese Language at Teaching Institute of Taiwan Normal University, to explore the feasibility of distance learning of Chinese language.

The next day, Dean Zheng conducted a comprehensive and detailed negotiations on the form and direction of the academic exchange between the two schools with the president of Taipei University of EducationZhang Xinren, Dean of Education College Wu Yuying, Dean of Collegeof Arts and HumanitiesYan Guoming, Leader of Research and Development Center Lv Jinxie, Director of Department of Art and Design Guobozhou, Director of Music Department Huang Lingyu, etc.

At the meeting, Dean Zheng expressed the hope to cooperate with counterpart institutions to carry out ChineseLanguage Education and Research, and other aspects of the art teaching, in order to develop curriculum materials and distance education. Dean Wu Yuying proposed to carry out teacher training exchange between the two schools to promote cross-strait academic exchanges of teachers and teaching; Lv Jinxie said that the form and content of cooperation between the two universities can be more innovative; based on the experience of a cooperative projectwith a university in Canada, and the two schools can also carry out such cooperation.

Speaking of artistic collaboration, Director Huanglingyu and Director Guo Bozhou said that there were many large galleriessurrounding the North and art atmosphere was good; Xiamen University has a strong cultural atmosphere and the International College is unique in terms of cultivating arts students, so teachers and students of the two universities can communicate with each other in academic and disciplinary development, which is very favorable. Dean Yan Guoming expressed his agreement. Eventually, the two sides reached a collaboration agreement and formally signed academic exchange and cooperation agreement. The talks ended in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
