At the invitation of Horikawa Tomohiro, President of Shizuoka Sangyo University(SSU), and Wataru Hasegawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Infomatics(KCGI) in Japan, Professor Tao Tao, Dean of International College(IC), Xiamen University(XMU), Ma Xianghua, Deputy Chair of the Party Committee of IC, Yan Sa, Head of the Japanese Language Teaching and Research Group, and Ai Hao, Director of the Office of IC, visited Shizuoka Sangyo University and The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) in Japan, and conducted in-depth exchanges on the teaching plan, curriculum setting, daily management and other matters related to student training, as well as the cooperation and development of future projects.

Dean Tao and his delegation first visited Shizuoka Sangyo University, where they had a discussion and exchanged views with Professor Yukio Saegusa, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Professor Tomohiro Horikawa, President of SSU, Professor Kazuhiko Tahata, vice president of SSU and Professor Norihide Sano, Director of the Faculty of Business Administration. Yukio Saegusa, Chairman of the Board of Directors, delivered a welcome speech, warmly welcomed the arrival of Dean Tao and his delegation, and introduced the history and development status of Shizuoka Sangyo University. President Tomohiro Horikawa said that the friendly cooperation with International College, Xiamen University began in 2007, and in 2009, the first batch of students from IC passed the entrance examination, and there have been 15 batches of students so far. He pointed out that in recent years, the training quality of students in the Sino-Japanese program of IC, XMU has been significantly improved, and the number of students who have passed the entrance examination of Shizuoka Sangyo University has doubled, and there are currently more than 110 students from IC, XMU accounting for more than 50% of the foreign students in the school.

Dean Tao expressed his heartfelt thanks to Chairman Yukio Saegusa, President Tomohiro Horikawa, and all colleagues of Shizuoka Sangyo University for their warm welcome and thoughtful arrangements, and expressed his admiration for the achievements made by Shizuoka Sangyo University in terms of school characteristics, student management, and talent training since its establishment 30 years ago, and hoped to take this opportunity to further promote cooperation between the two sides in the training and exchange of Chinese and Japanese students while deepening program cooperation. Dean Tao also invited Chairman Yukio Saegusa, President Tomohiro Horikawa, and other colleagues to visit IC at an appropriate time.
Dean Tao and his delegation exchanged views on teaching plans, student management, cultural and sports activities, and career guidance from Shizuoka Sangyo University, as well as the heads of the Academic Affairs Department, Student Affairs Department, and Student Career Guidance Department. Dean Tao also talked with 93-year-old Professor Mayumi Otsubo, former president of Shizuoka Sangyo University and current chairman of Fuji Pharmaceutical Valley Co., Ltd., and thanked him for promoting the establishment of the program in cooperation with International College of Xiamen University during his tenure as president.

Talk with Students from IC
During their visit to Shizuoka Sangyo University, Dean Tao and his delegation also visited some students from International College of Xiamen University and chatted with them about their study and life at the university. The students felt very cordial when they saw the teachers of their alma mater, and said that after studying abroad, they felt more and more the preciousness of the training and guidance of the teachers of their alma mater, and realized the deep care of the teachers of the college from the bottom of their hearts. Dean Tao said that he was happy and relieved to see that the students had become more mature, independent and confident after going abroad, and suggested that the students should carry out more exchanges and interactions with students from Japan and other countries, continuously improve their language skills, further expand their horizons, cherish their time, study hard, help them grow, and make their own contributions to the construction of the motherland and the development of society.
During their visit to The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), Dean Tao and his delegation were warmly received by Professor Yoichi Terashita, Vice President of KCGI, Prof. Li Meihui, Director of the International Student Business Department, and Chen Sina, Deputy Director of the International Student Business Department, and the two sides had an in-depth conversation on the possibility of future cooperation. Yoichi Terashita, Vice President of KCGI gave a detailed introduction to the development status and history of KCGI, and hoped to cooperate with International College of Xiamen University to jointly cultivate international IT talents with comprehensive competitiveness.
