On September 15th, three partner universities from the UK - University of Surrey, De Montfort University, and University of Hull visited International College(IC) of Xiamen University(XMU) to hold special lectures. They provided on-site practical guidance on study abroad planning and application strategies for the graduating class of 2026, helping students confidently step onto the world stage and embark on a wonderful study abroad journey.

The interactive atmosphere at the lecture was very lively. Students raised questions regarding the curriculum design, assessment requirements, degree levels, study abroad costs, and living expenses. Representatives from each university provided detailed answers and personalized suggestions to the questions that the students were concerned about. After the lecture, many students were still eager to learn more and proactively sought one-on-one consultations with the school representatives, further clarifying their application directions and preparation strategies.

On that afternoon, IC also conducted targeted study abroad guidance and institution presentations for students of the business major in the Bachelor's degree (2+2) Programme, which further met the needs of students from different programs.IC's study abroad guidance teachers repeatedly emphasized the importance of "early planning and early preparation", reminding the students to closely follow the study abroad timeline and key application milestones, formulate clear study plans, make full use of this semester to enhance the language proficiency and professional GPA, and at the same time, pay attention to strengthening personal comprehensive qualities, in order to lay a solid foundation for successfully going abroad for further study in 2026 and future career development.
The lectures is an important part of the pre-departure orientation series organized by IC this month. Previously, IC held professional study guidance lectures according to major on September 1st. In the future, IC will continue to adopt various forms such as university lectures, pre-departure orientation, and one-on-one consultations, combined with official data, to tailor personalized plans for students and provide high-quality support service for study abroad.
