The Second Session of Pre-Departure Orientation and Partner University Information Session Successfully Held at International College, Xiamen University

Recently, International College (IC) of Xiamen University (XMU) held its second session of pre-departure orientation and partner university information sessions for the graduating class of 2026, assisting students in scientifically planning their overseas study. The event featured invited delegates from the China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange(CSCSE) of the Ministry of Education, as well as admission officers from multiple partner institutions including James Cook University (Singapore Campus), Middlesex University, and De Montfort University. They delivered a series of informative study abroad guidance lectures. The activities were simultaneously conducted in Room 101, as well as Classrooms 511 and 512, Building 4, on the Zhangzhou Campus.



At the information session, Ms. Xu Meiju from the SQA Program Overseas Study Working Group of the CSCSE delivered a comprehensive presentation on the SQA program, systematically covering the working group's responsibilities, service framework, strategies for selecting countries and institutions, and study abroad safety. She emphasized that the CSCSE SQA Program Overseas Study Working Group is committed to providing students with all-round overseas study support, dedicated to building a secure, reliable, efficient, and fully-supported study abroad pathway that maximizes students' chances for a smooth transition to overseas education.   



During the university presentation session, admission delegates from various institutions provided detailed introductions of their universities' overviews, program features, and professional alignment requirements. Ms. Cao Lu, Senior Executive of the Southeast Region of James Cook University (Singapore Campus), systematically presented the institution's educational characteristics and strengths. She highlighted that as a direct overseas campus of an Australian public university, JCU excels in disciplines such as Marine and Freshwater Biology and Business Management. The university's business school holds AACSB accreditation, with multiple programs also recognized by authoritative industry bodies including CPA, ACCA, and CFA. With the help of the exquisite pictures of PowerPoint, Ms. Cao elaborated on the university's high-quality campus environment and internationalized teaching model, sparking students' enthusiasm for embarking on their study abroad journey in Singapore. Furthermore, she shared numerous successful stories of graduates who progressed to postgraduate and doctoral studies, as well as those who secured positions in renowned enterprises.


Ms. Lei Lei, Manager of Shanghai Office, Middlesex University's , provided a comprehensive overview of the university's distinctive resources. She emphasized its status as a world-class business school with scientifically designed curriculum structures. Ms. Lei detailed the unique features of the SQA professional alignment, the immersive learning experience in London, and the modern campus environment. She also explained program alignment requirements, scholarship policies, and shared employment and further education outcomes of recent graduates, presenting students with a study pathway that combines academic rigor with promising career prospects.

Meanwhile, Mr. Guo Xiucong, Admissions Officer of De Montfort University, highlighted the university's strengths in specialized fields such as Art Design and Fashion Management. He introduced the institution's advanced teaching facilities and extensive university-enterprise cooperation program that provide practical opportunities. Mr. Guo encouraged students to actively apply, the university could help them realize their dream of studying abroad.


During the interactive session, students actively raised questions and engaged in in-depth discussions with the delegates regarding their concerns about the application process, language requirements, and scholarship policies. The delegates patiently addressed each inquiry, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the venue. A student from the Business Accounting program shared, "This information session has given me a much clearer understanding of my target universities for studying abroad. It has been incredibly helpful for my future planning."

This specialized information session not only provided students with a valuable opportunity for face-to-face interaction with admission officers from partner universities but also delivered professional guidance on study abroad planning and application strategies. Moving forward, IC will continue to organize diverse overseas study activities, integrate high-quality educational resources, and build broader international exchange platforms to support more students in achieving their study abroad goals.
