On October 13th, International CollegeICXiamen University (XMU) successfully held its third session of the Pre-Departure Orientation and Partner University Information Session in Classroom 511, Building 4, Zhangzhou Campus. The event featured admissions officers from three prestigious UK institutions—University of Bradford, University of East Anglia(UEA), and Coventry University—who provided authoritative study abroad guidance for the graduating class of 2026.

University of Bradford: a Triple Crown-Accredited Business School

At the beginning, Ms. Ning Ke, Senior Admission Officer of the China and East Asia Office of University of Bradford, gave a presentation first. She provided a comprehensive overview of the university's distinctive strengths, with special emphasis on the outstanding caliber of its School of Management—recognized as one of the world's elite business schools belonging to the prestigious top 1% that has earned the Triple Crown accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS), the highest honor in business education, underscoring its internationally acclaimed academic stature and teaching quality. Ms. Ning highlighted the university's recent remarkable rankings: it was awarded the Times Higher Education (THE) Business School of the Year in December 2021; ranked 151–175 globally and 24th in the UK in the 2023 THE World University Rankings by Subject for business and economics; and placed 511th worldwide and 47th nationally in the 2026 QS World University Rankings. Beyond academic excellence, Ms. Ning's presentation also covered a wide range of course options, specific admission requirements, the unique Career Booster Programme, and the promising career pathways of graduates. She thoughtfully addressed practical concerns such as accommodation, cost of living, and study abroad safety, providing comprehensive guidance to help students plan their overseas experience from multiple perspectives.

University of East Anglia: Excellence in Heritage, Innovation in Sustainability

Mr. Zhai Haoxiang, Senior International Officer of China Development Office University of East Anglia's, systematically presented the appeal of this top-tier elite institution to the students. He introduced that UEA founded in 1963 ranks among the top 1% globally and serves as a key research hub for Europe and the world, enjoying high prestige in international academia. Located in Norwich, a historic and cultural city in eastern England, the university benefits from a mild climate and is situated in one of the region's sunniest and least rainy cities, providing an ideal environment for academic life.

Mr. Zhai provided a detailed explanation of the corresponding majors for the SQA Advanced Diploma (AD) program at the University of East Anglia (UEA), including the accepted types of language proficiency scores and the attractive SQA High Scholarship. He particularly emphasized the outstanding rankings of Norwich Business School and the university's remarkable achievements in campus sustainability and environmental development—UEA has been awarded the "Green Flag Award" eight times for its exceptional maintenance standards, environmental protection measures, and public services, representing the highest global benchmark for park and green space quality, which provides students with a high-quality campus living experience.

Coventry University: Flexible Education and Career Focus at a Century-Old Institution

Following the previous presentations, Ms. Wang Shuo, Admission Officer of Coventry University, vividly illustrated the institution's unique character—deeply rooted in history yet dynamically modern—through a visually engaging PowerPoint presentation. She elaborated on Coventry University's origin dating back to 1843, highlighting its substantial legacy of over 180 years. Ms. Wang detailed the university's five campuses across the UK, including the main Coventry Campus and the London City Campus, complemented by multiple global satellite locations and exchange programs that form a robust international network.

Ms. Wang particularly highlighted Coventry University's flexibility in enrollment time, offering admission seasons in September and January, complemented by corresponding language courses. This provides students with more diverse and convenient study options. With nearly 40,000 students, Coventry University boasts a high level of internationalization and maintains a student-to-faculty ratio of approximately 15:1, ensuring teaching attention. In terms of academic strengths, its Business School performs exceptionally well, with Accounting and Finance ranked among the top programs nationally, while Economics, Tourism and Exhibition Management, Aviation Management, and Human Resource Management all ranked in the top ten in the UK.

Ms. Wang provided a detailed explanation of the relevant curriculum and admission requirements, sharing genuine experiences from two Xiamen University SQA program graduates about their study and life experiences at Coventry University. This gave the students a more tangible understanding of their potential future academic journey.

During the interactive session, students engaged in in-depth discussions with the admissions officers on topics such as the application process and language requirements. The lively Q&A session fostered a vibrant atmosphere. Participating students generally reported that the event provided them with a clearer perspective on their study abroad goals and helped them better prepare for subsequent applications. IC expressed its commitment to continuing such events, aiming to build a higher-quality international education platform for its students.
