Recently, the 26th China Annual Conference and Expo for International Education(CACIE) was held at the Beijing National Convention Center. As one of the most influential international education events in the Asia-Pacific region, this year's conference adopted the theme "Bridging Education and Beyond." Huai Jinping, Minister of Education of China, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, and Shane Reti, Minister of Education, Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology of New Zealand, who served as the Guest of Honor for 2025, delivered addresses respectively. Distinguished speakers, including Tan Tieniu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Party Secretary of Nanjing University; Damon Salesa, Vice-Chancellor of Auckland University of Technology; and Wang Xingxing, Founder and CEO of China's Yushu Technology, delivered keynote speeches alongside other representatives from the education sector and cross-disciplinary fields. The conference brought together experts, scholars, and industry representatives from over 60 countries and regions to discuss new trends and opportunities in global education development.

Yu Hongbo, Dean of International College (IC), Xiamen University(XMU) was invited to attend the conference and participated as a special guest in the roundtable meeting of the sub-forum titled "Internationalization and Digitalization: How Pearson PTE Can Empower Transnational Education," hosted by Pearson Education Group. During the session, Dean Yu elaborated on the synergistic development of high-quality transnational education programs, focusing on aspects such as program distinctive positioning, core value, and practical challenges. He drew upon the practical experience of XMU and IC to outline pathways for building robust curriculum systems, high-caliber faculty teams, and strong brand influence. Throughout the conference, Dean Yu also engaged in in-depth exchanges with representatives from partner institutions, including the Australian National University and the University of Southampton (UK), on enhancing program quality, deepening collaborative initiatives, and sharing educational resources.

The participation in this conference serves as a significant initiative by IC to implement the internationalization strategy of high-level universities. It not only directly aligns with the core requirement of "expanding high-standard opening-up in education" in the Outline for Building a Strong Education Nation (2024-2035), but also advances the transformation of cross-border education from "resource integration" to "collaborative connotation-building" through a two-way empowerment approach of "bringing in" and "going global." Leveraging XMU's strengths as a Double First-Class university, IC has introduced practical concepts such as "disciplinary empowerment + localized innovation" and "Sino-foreign collaborative governance," offering new solutions for global cross-border education cooperation.
