IC Shines at the 2026 China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET)

From April 10 to 20, the 31st China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET), hosted by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) under the Ministry of Education, was held in Beijing, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, and Shanghai. As a Comprehensive Strategic Partner of the CSCSE and the only CSCSE-accredited study abroad training base in Fujian Province, the International College(IC) of Xiamen University(XMU) actively participated in the exhibition. IC leaders led teams to multiple venues, engaged in various events, and conducted in-depth cooperation discussions and institutional exchanges, achieving fruitful results in brand promotion, student recruitment, and partnership enhancement.



The exhibition tour kicked off on April 10 at the Beijing National Convention Center. Yu Hongbo, Dean of IC and He Haitao, Deputy Dean of IC led the college's delegation to the event, engaging in in-depth conversations with students, parents, and partners at the venue. Wang Daquan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the CSCSE, and Xia Jianhui, Deputy Director, visited the college's booth. They spoke highly of the college's achievements in international talent cultivation and partnerships with overseas institutions, and offered valuable suggestions for its future development.


During the event, Dean Yu attended the 2026 China Study Abroad Forum and had cordial exchanges with Professor David Lewis, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of Sciences, Engineering and Technology at the University of Adelaide, as well as other representatives from overseas institutions. In addition, the delegation was invited to participate in the James Cook University China Regional Seminar and the HAP Program Exchange Meeting, among other events, continuously expanding its international cooperation network and elevating international exchange and collaboration to new heights.

On April 14, Zhang Xiaoyun, Deputy Dean of IC led the college's delegation to the CIEET Chengdu event. Through face-to-face interactions, they gave students and parents a comprehensive overview of the college's international education philosophy and distinctive features, and shared the latest achievements in student development and teaching management. To further expand recruitment channels and deepen university-enterprise cooperation, Zhang Xiaoyun and the delegation visited XueDa Education in Chengdu on April 15. They held a special symposium with Tang Linhui, General Manager of XueDa Education's Southwest Region, and Song Peiyang, Founder of the Diverse Pathways to Higher Education Center, engaging in in-depth discussions on student pathway planning and coordinated recruitment activities in the Chengdu area.


On April 18, Zhou Lei, the Party Secretary of IC led the college's delegation to the Wuhan leg of the exhibition. Prior to the event, Secretary Zhou Lei and the delegation visited the International Education School of Wuhan University of Technology on April 17 for an exchange. The delegation was received by Zhao Haixin, Party Secretary of the International Education School of Wuhan University of Technology, and Huang Hongmei, Dean of the school, along with other representatives.

The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics including brand building of international cooperation programs, recruitment strategies, innovation in talent cultivation models, and student management services.



On April 20, Ma Xianghua, the Deputy Party Secretary od IC led the college's delegation to the CIEET Shanghai leg. The college's booth attracted numerous prospective study-abroad families and international education institutions. Wang Daquan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the CSCSE, along with officials from the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, visited the booth. They learned in detail about the college's talent cultivation, international cooperation, and study-abroad services, and fully affirmed the quality and standardized management of its international education programs.


Taking this exhibition as an opportunity, Deputy Party Secretary Ma Xianghua and the delegation also visited the International Education College of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and the International Finance College of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance. The two sides exchanged experiences and explored solutions to common challenges in key areas of student affairs, including ideological and political education for students in international programs, daily management, mental health, academic integrity, and home-school collaboration. In addition, Ma Xianghua was invited to attend the "China-Australia (Queensland) Talent Development and Employment Seminar," where she engaged in in-depth discussions with Chinese and Australian education experts and representatives on new models of cultivating international talent and pathways for employment development in the context of the new era.


Through this series of exhibition and exchange activities spanning over ten days and multiple cities, the International College of Xiamen University not only showcased its educational strengths and brand image to students, families, and education peers across the country, successfully expanding its brand influence and student recruitment base in key regions, but also established new connections with sister institutions and educational partners while deepening existing collaborations, reaching multiple consensus points. The visits and research conducted have also injected new momentum into the college's efforts to learn from peer experiences and optimize its own practices. Moving forward, the college will continue to focus on achieving high-quality development in international education, strengthening its core capacities, expanding high-quality resources, and making greater contributions to cultivating internationally-oriented talents with both patriotic commitment and a global perspective.
