From April 19 to 23, Yu Hongbo, Dean of the International College(IC) led a delegation to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, aiming to expand international cooperation, deepen practical collaboration with Malaysian universities, and further enhance the college's global engagement.

On April 20, the delegation visited the University of Malaya and met with Dr. Zuliana Razali, Director of the International Office and representatives from the Faculties of Management, Education, and Science. Both sides held productive talks on credit exemption, curriculum alignment, and joint programs, reaching several cooperation agreements and further expanding the college's network in Southeast Asia.

On April 21, the delegation visited Xiamen University Malaysia(XMUM) and held discussions with Pro. Wang Ruifang, the President of XMUM, Zhang Ying, the Vice President of XMUM and Wang Huiqiong, the President Assistant. The two sides reached cooperation intentions on student exchange, program collaboration, and short-term study tours, creating new opportunities for our students and further facilitating the cross-border mechanism for two-way empowerment and talent cultivation within the university.
The delegation was also invited to the forum on “Tan Kah Kee spirit and the Belt and Road: XMU Alumni's Mission and Development”, promoting the college's programs to Xiamen University alumni to expand its brand influence in Southeast Asia. During the forum, they met with Professor Lu Maozu, a renowned UK scholar in economics and finance. Dean Yu Hongbo invited Professor Lu to visit the college again for future academic exchanges.

On April 22, the delegation visited the United Chinese School Committees' Association of Malaysia (Dong Zong) and held talks with Leong Seng Yee, the CEO of Dong Zong, Chan Keng Fong, the deputy CEO OF Dong Zong, and other key officials on cooperation matters. The two sides reached intentions on student recruitment outreach and formally invited Chinese Independent High Schools under Dong Zong to participate in the college's "International Education Forum for Secondary School Principals" to be held in June. This visit actively broadened the channels for high-quality student recruitment in Southeast Asia.
During the visit, the delegation also paid courtesy calls to Dato' Lee Yeow Seng, Chairman of IOI Properties Group Malaysia, and Tan Sri Dato' Tai Liang Leong, Founder and Executive Chairman of Sunsuria Group, along with other prominent Chinese community leaders. The delegation briefed the community leaders on the college's current development and expressed the hope to further enhance exchanges and cooperation with various sectors in Malaysia. The community leaders expressed their strong support for the college's cooperative initiatives in Malaysia.
This Malaysia trip deepened cooperation with Malaysian universities, opened up cross-border two-way empowerment channels within XMU, broadened overseas recruitment pathways, and expanded the college's influence in Malaysia. Moving forward, the college will continue to deepen regional cooperation in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, enrich the forms and levels of collaboration, and steadily advance its distinctive model of multi-country, diversified international education, contributing to the cultivation of outstanding talents with a global perspective.
