On the afternoon of March 26, Paul Turner (Chief Representative of The Northern Consortium or NCUK) visited our college. Huang Guanhua (Office Director of The International College) and Chen Jianru (Project Secretary) met and discussed cooperation details with him in the conference room of Overseas Education College of Xiamen University.
During the meeting, Paul Turner introduced the developing history of NCUK and its cooperation with other colleges and universities in China. NCUK has established cooperation with many renowned colleges in China and around 2,000 students are taking its bridging courses.
Based on the rich experience and achievements in cooperative school-running, Director Huang Guanhua proposed the 1+1 cooperative business master project, which was welcomed by Paul Turner. Director Huang Guanhua also suggested both sides could jointly set up master classes at Xiamen University. This program will introduce teaching staff from both sides and try to attract working students. Working students could use spare time to finish master courses within 1.5 or 2 years at The International College to get a Master degree of a foreign university.
