In order to provide great opportunities for our students to exchange in world-class universities. Our school will organize the 2015 UC Berkeley summer exchange program with SAF. During the project, students will be served as full-time registered students of UC Berkeley and have classes with local and other international students. Students can take courses with a minimum of 5 credit and obtain the official transcripts offered by UC Berkeley.The notice is hereby issued as follows:

一、Program introduction

1.University：

University of California-Berkeley（UC Berkeley, UCB, founded in 1868, is a famous American public research university. It is also one of the world's top schools and is known as the  four immortal academic backbones of American Society with Stanford University, Harvard, MIT. UCB is also the flagship university among 30 public Ivy universities. Civil engineering, environmental engineering, ecology, chemistry, computer related professional of UC Berkeley were ranked the first;130 professions are rankedtop10 in U.S.A.

2.Program description and advantages：

Students can take courses and obtain the official transcripts offered by UC Berkeley；

Students will be served as full-time registered students of UC Berkeley and have classes with local and other international students；

In order to provide students excellent opportunities to independently learn and live in foreign country, SAF headquarters in the United States is also very convenient for students to ask for help and services in an emergency.

3.Program duration and fee

Program fee description:

(1) the project cost above is actual expense for 2014 summer program. only for reference. The cost in 2015 is expected to be released in March.

(2) the project cost: includes tuition, accommodation costs (triple room of school dormitory or four-room apartment) and SAF service management fees (please refer to the following part for more information about SAF service)

Tuition fees: including the minimum requirements required by the Immigration Department, each Session corresponds to the minimum credits are listed as follows:

Session A:    5credits

Session B:    8credits

Session C:    6credits

Session D:    5credits

Session B+C:  8credits

Session A+C:  6credits

Session A+D:  10credits

Note：Pay extra tuition fees for the credits beyond 8 credits. (2014 standard $445 / credits).

Accommodation cost is based on the standard room and triple room. Campus accommodation includes 12 meals per week. Students who participate in Session A, B, C, A+D will be assigned to live in UC Berkeley student apartment. Due to the limited number of residential placesfor Session D students. Thus students of Session Dwill be arranged live in student apartment and a portion of students will be arranged outside the campus. Off-campus accommodation will be audited by SAF. Off-campus accommodation cost is set based on different types of accommodation. Accommodation will be arranged according to the principle of first come first served.

(3)Students need to prepare their own visa fees, personal pocket expenses and international air fares. F1 student visa fees cost a total of $380. Personal pocket expenses vary according to the individual situations; 100~150 dollars /week is enough to cover the living costs. The international air ticket (including tax) prices ranging from 12000 yuan to 18000 yuan.

4. SAF service content

•After the students submit their applications, SAF will help students to complete the application and communicate with the school to ensure the exchange quotas, while assisting students to carry out curriculum registration;

• SAF will guide students to prepare visa application materials (SAF is experienced in the visa application);

• SAF will provide a complete and detailed guide line to help students understand the local study life in the United States before they go abroad.

• SAF will arrange accommodation for the students;

•SAF will pick up the students at San Francico Airport and send them to the student apartment;

•SAF will arrange insurance for the students;

• Teachers of SAF U.S. headquarters will provide emergency support services for students and leader (if have) to ensure their safety;

• Transcript delivery and alumni activities after their finish the program。

二、Application procedures

1. Application requirements

 Registered full-time undergraduates and postgraduates

GPA: 3.0/4.0

• TOEFL：iBT80

•or IELTS：6.5

• or CET4：493

2. Application Deadline：

Deadline of the first batch：January 15, 2015

Deadline of the second batch：March 25, 2015

Note: Because the program adopts“first come first served” to encourage qualified students to sign up as soon as possible in order to choose the courses they want.

 Application fee $100 and deposit $900（remit after the notification fromSAF）
