From December 15th to 16th, the University of Sussex visited the International CollegeICof Xiamen University (XMU) to conduct a two-day program information session and exchange event. The event drew active participation from students in the SQA (3+1) program and first-year students in the 2+2 program, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere on-site.

On the afternoon of December 15th, Dean Zhang, the China Admissions Manager of the University of Sussex, held a special information session in Classroom 511 of the International College. With over ten years of experience in studying in the UK and guiding students through the application process, Dean first provided a comprehensive introduction to the University of Sussex’s academic strengths, campus environment, and the advantages of its collaborative programs. The university is located in Brighton, a renowned seaside resort city often referred to as "London’s backyard," just a 50-minute train ride from London. It is also the only university in the UK situated within a national forest park. In the 2025 QS World University Rankings, the University of Sussex ranks 246th globally, with its Development Studies program maintaining the top position in the QS subject rankings for nine consecutive years—a testament to its globally recognized academic excellence. The Sussex Business School is a leading research-intensive business school in the UK, known for its interdisciplinary collaboration, innovative education, and global perspective. The school is on track to achieve the prestigious triple accreditation in 2026, placing it among the top 1% of business schools worldwide. As an accredited member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS), the school’s research income has ranked first in the UK for four consecutive years (2021–2024). In the 2024/2025 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Global Universities rankings, it is placed among the top 12 in the UK and 80th globally in the field of Economics and Business.

During the presentation, Dean also incorporated MBTI personality analysis and guidance on major selection, helping students plan their future development based on their individual characteristics. Additionally, Dean shared practical advice on adapting to British culture and preparing academic recommendation letters, offering valuable guidance for students on their study abroad journey.

During the Q&A session, students actively raised questions on topics such as curriculum design, language preparation, and study abroad life, to which Dean provided detailed and thoughtful responses. Customized souvenirs from the University of Sussex were also distributed at the event, adding warmth to the occasion.

On December 16th, to meet the need for personalized consultation, the University of Sussex organized two additional exchange activities. During the morning’s "1-on-1 Consultation" session, students had the opportunity to schedule face-to-face meetings with Dean for tailored guidance. In the afternoon, the "Sussex Afternoon Tea" took place in a relaxed atmosphere, where students enjoyed light refreshments while freely discussing topics such as campus life in the UK, academic preparation, and career planning with both the instructor and their peers. Through peer sharing and guidance from the teacher, participants gained valuable insights and inspiration.

This event not only served as a bridge for students to communicate directly with a prestigious overseas institution, providing them with authoritative and up-to-date study abroad information, but also stimulated their reflection and planning for future development through interactive exchanges.
