On March 27th, Mr. Liu Xingfei, delegate of Cardiff University, and Dr. Lu Yuchen, China Chief Representative of the Oxford Prospects Programme, visited International College(IC), Xiamen University(XMU). Yu Hongbo, Dean of IC, met with the two guests separately.

During the meeting with Mr Liu Xingfei, both sides engaged in practical discussions on the implementation of the 2+2 International Undergraduate Study Abroad Training Programme. As a member of the Russell Group and a world-renowned research university, Cardiff University has already established a solid foundation for cooperation with XMU in areas such as faculty and student exchanges and academic collaboration. Mr. Liu presented Cardiff's academic strengths and the 2+2 programme's curriculum articulation, affirming IC's educational quality. Dean Yu noted that the 2+2 model has proven successful over years of practice, and this collaboration will continue the strong partnership between the two universities while achieving new breakthroughs in global talent cultivation.

Subsequently, Dean Yu held talks with Dr Lu Yuchen, the representative from the University of Oxford. The two sides reviewed the history and outcomes of Xiamen University's participation in the Oxford Prospects Programme, and discussed future directions for collaboration. Dean Yu noted that our students' participation in last year's study visit to the UK yielded remarkable results. Through immersive classroom learning, thematic seminars, and cross-cultural experiences, the students demonstrated significant improvement in their academic competence, language proficiency, and global vision. IC will continue to increase support, encouraging more outstanding students to seize high-quality international exchange opportunities and broaden their horizons and enhance their capabilities through engagement with the world. Dr. Lu highly commended Xiamen University and International College for their support of the Oxford Prospects Programme, and expressed the hope that both sides would further expand the dimensions of their collaboration and promote the development of inter-university partnership to a deeper level.

Moving forward, IC will continue to strengthen the "Xiamen University Study Abroad" brand, steadily promote the implementation and effectiveness of various international cooperation programmes, continuously refine the talent cultivation system, and nurture more internationally-oriented, multi-skilled talents with both a strong sense of national commitment and a global vision.
