At 19:30 pm of November 19, the "Chinese Corner", a kind of language partner activity held by the International College, were kicked off in the Room B403 of Kun Luan Building of Xiang'an Campus. More than 50 students of the Overseas Education College participated in it. They are from the United States, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and other countries.

Today’s topic was"Beautiful Xiamen". At the beginning, students of the International Collegepresented the main attractions in Xiamen in Chinese and English to the international students,allowing them to have a deeper understanding of the beautiful Xiamen. Their introduction to "the world's most beautiful marathon track"---Huandao Road, the Old Nanputuo Temple, the shopping paradise---Zhongshan Road, andromantic Gulang Island, as well as the beautiful Egret Island Park and other attractions deeply impressed a lot of international students. A student from Tajikistan said that it was a pity that he had not have time to go to the Egret Island Park and he would like to go there in the future.

After that, theinternational students madegreeting cards of "Beautiful Xiamen,"with the help of their Chinese partners. Every card has the words "I love Xiamen" in it.The international students played with imagination, carefully drew the Chinese character"我爱厦门" words, and carefully drewthe landscapes which they believe can represent Xiamen. After a night's efforts, the cards were painted with the towering stations, winding Haicang Bridgeas well as fireworks shows at nights.

This event did not only promote language and cultural exchange between Chinese and foreign students in a relaxed atmosphere but made international students furtherunderstand the beautiful Xiamen, and enhancedtheir friendship. In addition, the worksby the International Student will represent Xiamen University to participate in the province's "I love Xiamen" Greeting Card Design Competition. We believe that these beautifully crafted greeting cards will be able to win honor for  our school.
