On the afternoon of April 28, the 2026 pre-departure orientation for overseas studies was successfully held in Main Building No. 4 on the Zhangzhou Campus. Sponsored by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) under the Ministry of Education and organized by the International College(IC) of Xiamen University(XMU), the event is now in its 19th consecutive year as a brand program. It received strong support from the CSCSE and over 30 partner universities from the UK, Singapore, Canada, and beyond, attracting nearly 400 students.

At the beginning of the event, Zhou Lei, Party Secretary of IC, Yu Hongbo, Dean of IC and other college leaders toured the exhibition booths. They had warm exchanges with attending representatives, asked detailed questions about program features, curriculum, and student applications, and expressed sincere thanks to the overseas representatives for their active participation.

Subsequently, the CSCSE working group held a pre-departure lecture in Classrooms 511 and 512, covering visa applications, travel preparations, and overseas safety. The session also offered practical advice on issues of general concern to students, including visa documents, immigration registration, living abroad, and master's program applications.
After the lecture, students headed to the exhibition area for face-to-face discussions with representatives from overseas partner institutions. They inquired about program offerings, admission requirements, housing, and scholarships, while the representatives introduced their institutions' strengths and application procedures. The interactions helped students clarify their goals and better prepare for studying abroad. During the event, the CSCSE working group also distributed the 2026 Overseas Studies Guidedbook for CSCSE-SQA Advanced Diploma Students to help students systematically understand the entire study abroad process.

The well-organized event drew active participation and high praise from the CSCSE and overseas partner representatives. As a brand program of the college, the pre-departure orientation is committed to serving students by bridging direct communication with overseas institutions and providing authoritative guidance. It helps students plan their study abroad journey, make thorough preparations, and set off on a successful overseas academic experience.
