On April 14, a special lecture on the National Security Education Day, titled “National Security Is No Small Matter — Stay Alert to Espionage Around You”, was delivered at the Concert Hall of Building 3 on the Zhangzhou Campus. The lecture was jointly organized by the International College and the People's Defense Office of Zhangzhou Development Zone, and was given by Police Officer Ye as the keynote speaker. Zheng Qi, Director of the Party Committee Office and the National Security Office of Zhangzhou Development Zone, was present at the lecture. Relevant staff members, the Security Office of Zhangzhou Campus, and representatives of faculty and students were invited to attend the event. The lecture was presided over by Ma Xianghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College.

At the start of the lecture, Deputy Secretary Ma Xianghua emphasized the importance of national security. She noted that our students, who will study abroad and engage in cross-cultural exchanges, must remain vigilant about national security — internalizing this awareness and putting it into practice.

During the lecture, Officer Ye provided a systematic explanation of topics including the core connotation of national security, common forms of espionage, and methods for identification and prevention, all within the context of the current international and domestic security landscape. Drawing on multiple real-life cases, she analyzed the infiltration and subversion tactics employed by foreign intelligence agencies. By using these cases to illustrate legal principles and serve as cautionary examples, Officer Ye helped faculty and students recognize the concealed and harmful nature of espionage activities and acquire basic skills to prevent them.

In light of the students' future career paths, Officer Ye also gave specific security reminders for careers in military, maritime, finance, and high-tech sectors, urging students to always maintain national security awareness no matter what jobs they take.

The lecture featured interactive Q&A sessions, and small prizes were given to students who participated. The atmosphere on site was lively and enthusiastic.

At the conclusion of the lecture, Deputy Secretary Ma Xianghua expressed sincere gratitude to Officer Ye for her insightful presentation. She emphasized that national security is of paramount importance and expressed her hope that all faculty and students would take this lecture as an opportunity to proactively study laws and regulations related to national security, consciously resist any acts that endanger national security, and integrate the safeguarding of national security into their daily study, work, and life.
