In the afternoon of October 13, 2016, Vice President of University of Southampton Professor Colin Grant, Associate Pro Vice Chancellor for International Professor Peter Smith, Associate Dean, Faculty of Business Law & Art Professor Stephen Mortimer, director of student recruitment and international relations department Ms. Charlene Allen, Head of Faculty Operations, Faculty of Humanities Mr. Thom Bull, and program coordinator Mr. Zhao Tiefu visited the International College. They exchanged thoughts on students’ cultivation quality, teachers’ qualifications and education quality.

Dean Professor Zheng Tongtao, vice Dean Huang Guanhua warmly welcomed the guests. They had a meeting in room B509 of Kunluan Building. Our teacher representatives on project cooperation, English teaching and art also attended the meeting. Dean Professor Zheng introduced the recent development of the college, student cultivation and teachers. He said that since the International College started to cooperate with the University of Southampton in 2008, the fields had been expanded from art and design undergraduate program and master of education program to commerce and humanities. He hoped that two parties will cooperate more to further the communications.

Vice President of University of Southampton Professor Colin Grant expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from Dean Professor Zheng and also hoped two parties can work together in more areas. He was satisfied with the students’ qualities and he thought there’s room for cooperation in teaching resources, long-term and short-term programs. He would like to further the cooperation on business management, hotel management, logistics management and humanities.
