Vice Dean Ms. Lynne Barrow from Hull University Business School visits International College

In the morning of October 12, vice Dean Ms. Lynne Barrow of Hull University Business School, Ms. Caroline Michel, Director General of the International Affairs Division and Ms. Laura Liu, Director of China Affairs Office visited the International College. They came with the aim of deepening the cooperation in research, student cultivation and teaching strength. They also planned to hold an information session for our students to provide the latest news on Hull, including enrolment, leading subjects and scholarship policy.

   

Dean Prof. Zheng Tongtao of International College and vice Dean Ms. Huang Guanhua welcomed the guests and had the meeting at B509 of Kunluan Building. Dean Prof. Zheng briefly introduced the recent status of our college and some overseas education program. He said that University of Hull has attracted many of our students with the outstanding quality of education and leading subjects. We had a year when 42 graduates chose University of Hull to continue their undergraduate program. He hoped that two parties will be in close communication to further the partnership, such as 2+2 undergraduate business programs, academic research and teacher training.


Vice Dean Ms. Lynne Barrow agreed with Dean Prof. Zheng’s proposal. She said that the business school is the biggest department in the University of Hull and they focus on fostering the employability of the students. She hoped we could send more outstanding students to study at Hull.


Ms. Caroline Michel introduced the Master of Accounting program at Hull. Apart from courses for the degree, it also includes partial courses for ACCA, so that students will not only obtain the Master’s degree, but also be exempted from some ACCA-required courses.

The information session


In the information session, Ms. Lynne Barrow introduced the application criteria, curriculum setting and the features of Master of Accounting program. Ms. Caroline Michel answers students’ questions on subject bridging and admission requirement. Students said that the session was meaningful.
