On May 31st,the personal exhibition of Professor Bashire Makhoul who is the Vice-Chancellor of Birmingham City University and the British contemporary artists officially opened in Xiamen Library . This art exhibition with the house of cardsas the theme and it will continue until June 10th.

At 3pm in the afternoon of this exhibition, Xiamen Librarian Lin Liping, dean of International Institute of Xiamen University Professor Zheng Tongtao, dean of Communication institute of Wuhan Textile University Shen Xiangsheng, dean of Arts Institute of Huaqiao University, Jiangnan University Professor Wei Qufu attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition along with other relevant institutions.

This exhibition from the picture of the Venice installation  the garden which be occupied, which inspired this painting of the exhibition in Xiamen, Professor Makhoul from official commemorative perspective show the tall cardboard city again, like  Canaletto show the same respect to the city of Venice-like place , he said,in the meanwhile, it also included four tapestries which derived from these paintings display, 16 digital prints and glass balls installations, together added to the similar theme.

It is reported that Professor Makhoul came at International Institute of Xiamen University’s invitation for Xiamen to have this exhibition. As an old friend of the International Institute Professor Makhoul expressed from 2008 until now, International Institute of Xiamen University maintain a close cooperative relationship with him. In this seven years, he witnessed the whole process of the growth and rapid development of the International Institute of Xiamen University,. In May this year, the Institute ushered in the tenth anniversary, he wanted to send a unique birthday gift for the International Institute through exhibitions.
