The ‘three awards’ of Xiamen University (Wenqing scholarship, Bendong scholarship, and Yanan scholarship) are the top prizes of the student awards. There is only 18 places in the school undergraduate students with competitive election. Recently, our college student Zheng Wei, who is majored in Finance, won the Yanan scholarship in 2014 and became the first man to be our honored.

Talking about the award, Mr.Zheng was very modest and described himself as ‘eat, sleep, play, enjoy the best and do nothing much’. He said many students were much more excellent in many ways, and he was lucky enough to get the prize.
Inside and outside the school, Mr.Zheng has been put out the volunteer service activities as a way of life. He thought the biggest harvest from the volunteer service activities was the understanding from outside the campus, students, and the familiar world of experience.
In addition to volunteering, Mr.Zheng was also widely involved in many academic competitions, either related to professional business or English language. He thought these competitions promoted his growth and development, because competition means to compete under a broader platform and with more talent people. The competitions also required him faced with a difficult task as well as clearly identified his own strengths and weaknesses but still had to be confident. In addition, many competitions involved teamwork, so that participating in the process of the competition can not only increase the personal understanding of the team, more can learn from each other and with other people. It is beneficial to the development of the future.
The Dublin students have a lot of planning for the future - some want to go to Ireland, some want to be graduate students in China. When it comes to the topic of future development, Mr.Zheng said his plan was to apply for graduate students in the United States in the second half of this year. He thought it would be better to start to think about the future plan as soon as possible, and the key was to find a suitable way for oneself. He believed that if you work hard enough, it’s no need to worry too much about the future. In addition, he thought that study must be combined with a concrete plan.
At last, Mr.Zheng gave his own suggestions for men-tees:
1. Looking for a period of time to calm down and carefully analyze yourself, know yourself, know what you like, what you need and want to be what kind of person, what kind of things do you want to be. It is more meaningful than be busy aimless and blindly .
2. Dare to dream, and don't limit yourself. A lot of things are paper tigers, people who is dare to try tends to be successful.
3. Have your own life, and don't stare at other people. Other people's success and failure can not be measured by an outsider, only can be truly evaluated by themselves.
4. To love, to pursue, to do what one can, and finally listen to destiny. The one who is working hardly will have good luck.
Meditation, planning, pursuing. It is believed that International College students can find a piece of the sky belongs to themselves and fly high.
