International College holds graduation ceremony of 2013 and nearly a hundred students are to go abroad

May 31, 2013 International College Graduation Ceremony was held in the main building ofZhangzhou Campus,and certificateswere presentedto students who were to study abroad. Leader of Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Education Project Jia Ying, representatives of the British partner universities, Chinese Service Center for Scholarly study group, Dean of the International College Zheng Tongtao, Party Secretary Chen Zhiwei, Deputy Dean Geng Hu, Deputy Party Secretary Wu Weiping, Director of the Office Huang Guanhua, League secretary Liu Wanyu, as well as the parents of year 2013 students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Dean of the International College Lv Zixuan.

Dean Zheng, expressed a warm welcome to the guests, parents and students. Recalling the history of the International College, Zheng summed up the teaching achievements of the past 8 years. He said that the current model of international cooperative education was the best way to study abroad, and it has cultivated a number of outstanding talent returning to China. For graduates going abroad, he urged the students to carefully prepare British visa in advance, and communicate with the sister school seniors learning in foreign institutions in a timely manner to get help; He also encouraged students to join the International College Alumni Association, exchange, and make full use of alumni resources. For students who would move to Xiang'an campus in September,he hoped them tocommunicate with students of Xiamen University, and overseas students to learn a foreign language interoperability and improve their English communication skills.


Dingley spoke on behalf of University of Bradford. He encouraged the students after leaving the country to change the way of learning, more communication with teachers and students to seize every opportunity of office time and better express themselves. He also reminded the students to make full use of the facilities in British universities, which is very favorable in the future development and communication.

International College faculty representative Zhou Xiaoping encouraged the students to study hard and dare to take responsibility. She said that the students should gradually change the original study and living habits, learn self-management, andlearn to solve problems; They should also be grateful and cultivate a healthy personality.


Parents representatives Ms. Xu Jiangcheng and Mr. Zhang Qingmingmade a short speech. Ms. Xu said the International College provided an authoritative, standardized, secure and diverse selection of study abroadfor the students; teachers of the college were well qualified and the teaching quality was high enough, which provided an excellent garden to foster students. Mr. Zhang asked the students to always remember their mentors, always to maintain a firm beliefand to work hard for their ideal goals.


Graduate representative Li Xiaoke and Yan Chenyan shared the joys and sorrows of their life in the International College andthe rapid growth in their learning.The two students expressed gratefulness for the nurturing of their parents and teachers and thanks to their fellow students. They said, as a young man, they should study hard and live each day seriously, so that it does not live up to the expectations of his alma mater and their parents; they should also face frustrations in life with smile and make oneself stronger.

Finally, the leaders present at the ceremony presented the students certificates and posed for pictures.


There were nearly a hundred graduates from International College in 2013 who would go to the United Kingdom,the United States, Japan and Canada this fall or spring of next year to continue their studies, pursuing undergraduate or master's program courses. Some students not only have obtained a foreign university admission offer, but also won scholarships of foreign universitiesbecause of the excellent results. Wherein Xu Linyang from Sino-Japanese project got Shizuoka Sangyo University scholarship, a 400,000 yen tuition waiver during his study in Japan. Up to now, amongst students in the intention of study abroad, the rate of going abroadhas been 92.03%, a steady risecompared to previous years.


The event received strong support from overseas partner universities. The partner institutions coming to International College to issue admission noticeand offer study advice were: Cardiff City University, University of Central Lancashire, Middlesex University, the University of South Wales , De Montfort University, Salford University, Birmingham city University, University of Bradford, University of Hertfordshire, University of Hull, University of Huddersfield, University of Northampton, Oxford Brookes University, Park Mainz University of Plymouth, University of the West of England, York St John University and the University of Westminster. Chinese Service Center for Scholarly study abroad group wouldalso be present to give advice.
