Between 13th and 18th, April, Professor Zheng Tongtao, Dean of the international college and of Overseas Education College of Xiamen University paid a goodwill visit to Shizuoka Sangyo University and Kansai University of Foreign Studies in Japan, with his delegation, including Huang Guanhua, office manager of the international college, MrYansa of the international college and Chen Jianru, the project secretary.

On April, 14th, the delegation came to Shizuoka Sangyo University and met with 11 Chinese students from class of 2007 studying in Japan. These students gave an account of their learning and living condition in Japan in both Chinese and Japanese, Zheng Tongtao, dean of the international college and of Overseas Education College was relieved that with the experience of studying abroad, these students were more mature psychologically and had achieved great progress in their learning. He also hoped these students could continue to work hard and keep moving forward, making far greater progress. In the afternoon, they had talks with Mr. Tan Daping, president of Shizuoka Sangyo University as well as principals of main bodies of the university, and exchanged views on the condition of exchanged students and intention of further cooperation. After that, the delegation visited Fujieda, Shizuoka Sangyo University Campus, and Iwata, Shizuoka Sangyo University Campus. They had witnessed the beauty of the college, the facilities which are advanced and excellent and its people-centered teaching philosophy.
On April,16th, the delegation went to Kansai University of Foreign Studies and held cordial talks with Tanimoto Yoshitaka, principal of the university. Principal Zheng introduced the international college and Overseas Education College of Xiamen University as well as Confucius Institute at South Base to Principal Tanimoto Yoshitaka. While Principal Tanimoto Yoshitaka briefly introduced the basic situation of the establishment of Kansai Gaidai University and its existing scale as well as its future development. He also expressed his wish that the two sides can strengthen and deepen exchanges and communications with each other. After that, with the guidance of professor Manabemasahiro, head of the library, the delegation paid a visit to the library in Kansai Gaidai University.

On the afternoon of April, 17th, the delegation dropped in the Japan-China Cultural Institute located in Kyoto and communicated with Madam Lixia, Tuo, principal of the Japan-China Cultural Institute. Both sides agreed that two colleges shared a broad cooperation space. And the counterpart of Japan hoped that there would be a platform for exchanges and communications for Japanese students going Xiamen University through various forms.
