Art Institute of University of Southampton in the UK visited our college and organized their entrance examination for the applicants of overseas study project in our college

On 12th April, 2010, the deputy director of Fashion Design Department of the Art Institute of the University of Southampton Cecilia Langemar, Visual Arts Department Tim Matcalf, and assistant officer of International Enrollment Section Sarah Travis payed a visit to International College where they held English test and professional interview for the Art Design applicants who attended the university in 2008. 

During the interview, some students showed their elaborate collections of art works to the teachers from University of Southampton, the condensation of their academic achievements for these two years, which involves all kinds of creations such as innovative figures, color design and photography. One of the students, ChenQingfeng who chose to major in Fashion Design introduced Cecilia Langemar some personally designed costumes and the atlas of models’ wearing effect. Another student YouJiwei who chose Visual Arts presented delicate calendars that were made by herself to the teachers as a gift. When it refers to views on Arts, student Wangxiaoting shared her notion: Pop art was one of her preference. And she inclined to merge various styles into the works.

To be worth mentioning, these applicants gained the recognition from Cecilia Langemar and Tim Metcalf, who thought highly of their imagination and creativity.

Altogether 12 students took participate in this 2008 Art Design Project, with 8 people in Visual Arts and 4people in Fashion Design. Those applicants would be admitted to be sophomores in Art College of University of Southampton at the end of this semester with exemption from IELTS by passing the English test and professional interview.
