On November 24, the 7th session of the Pre-Departure Education and Partner University Information Session of International College(IC), Xiamen University(XMU) was successfully held. The event was conducted simultaneously in two separate sessions, tailored for students of the Bachelor's degree (2+2) Programme and the SQA AD (3+1) Program respectively. Representatives from multiple overseas partner institutions were invited to deliver presentations, fostering lively on-site interaction and receiving positive feedback.

In Classroom 511 of Building 4, admissions officers from the University of Sunderland and the University of Brighton delivered presentations for students of the SQA AD (3+1) Program, focusing on institutional strengths, study abroad costs, and career opportunities.

Zhang Xiaoli, the Admissions Officer of the University of Sunderland, highlighted that the university ranks 27th in the UK according to the 2026 Guardian University Guide. It offers campuses in both Sunderland and London, with consistent tuition fees across locations and the flexibility to choose based on academic program. The university maintains partnerships with renowned companies such as Sony, Cisco, Nissan, and British Airways, providing students with diverse opportunities including local internships, volunteer programs, and career guidance. Ms. Zhang particularly emphasized the relatively low cost of living in the region, along with the variety of scholarships offered by the university, making it a highly cost-effective option for international study.

University of Brighton: Advanced Facilities, Comprehensive Support

 Gao Yang, the admissions officer of the University of Brighton, introduced the university's academic structure and campus resources. As a comprehensive university, the University of Brighton has achieved notable accomplishments in fields such as art and design, sports science, and clinical medicine. Its three campuses complement each other in functionality, with the business school equipped with modern teaching facilities such as Bloomberg terminals and virtual trading platforms. The university also offers 24-hour open maker spaces and libraries, along with a green and livable campus environment. It is the first university campus in the UK to achieve "carbon neutrality." Gao elaborated on the articulation pathways for business-related programs, admission requirements, and accommodation arrangements, while also emphasizing the university's comprehensive support system for international students.

In Conference Room 101 of Building 4, admissions representatives from the University of the West of England (UK) and the University of Southern Queensland (Australia) participated in the information session via online platforms. They provided detailed university information and professional insights for students interested in pursuing further studies in the UK or Australia.

University of the West of England: Steady Rise in Rankings with Recognized Strength in Business Studies

Du Xuejiao，the Admissions Officer from the University of the West of England (UWE) provided an online introduction to the university's comprehensive strengths and study-abroad support. The university is ranked 38th in the UK according to The Guardian's 2026 rankings, with its business education particularly outstanding—it has been nominated for "Best Business School" by The Times for three consecutive years. Du explained the curriculum structure, admission criteria, and language requirements for five articulation programs, including Business Management, Accounting, and Finance and etc., while also detailing the university's student services, accommodation options, and fee structures. She particularly highlighted that Bristol, where the university is located, is a safe, livable, and well-connected city. Combined with the academic guidance and life support provided by the university, it offers international students an excellent learning environment.

University of Southern Queensland: Comprehensive Professional Accreditations and Extensive University-Industry Collaboration

Li Mengyin, the China Representative of the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), provided a detailed introduction to the 2+2 articulation program. Students who successfully complete their first two years of study at IC, XMU and meet the required academic standards can proceed to Australia to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Aviation Management, or Accounting. The Bachelor of Commerce offers popular specializations such as finance and human resources. The Aviation Management program is accredited by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) of Australia. The Accounting program holds multiple international professional accreditations. The university is equipped with Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 flight simulators and collaborates with industry partners like Qantas to provide students with internship and employment opportunities. Additionally, Li highlighted several scholarship policies designed to alleviate the financial burden on students.

During the interactive Q&A session, students actively raised questions regarding major selection, scholarship applications, internship opportunities, and other topics. Admissions representatives from each university provided detailed and thorough responses. The information session as a whole was substantial and well-organized, effectively assisting students in clarifying their study abroad goals and application pathways, thereby laying a solid foundation for their future overseas education plans.
