On March 1st, the International College（IC） of Xiamen University(XMU) welcomes new students for the spring semester of 2026 and returning students. Gathering at Xiamen University from various places, all students, filled with passion and dreams, came together to embrace the new semester and embark on a new chapter of their youth.

To ensure a safe and orderly registration process, IC made meticulous preparations in advance: coordinating campus traffic under the guidance of the Campus Management Committee and Security Office, publishing registration guidelines in advance via its official WeChat account, and organizing a "one-on-one" student volunteer team to provide caring services and ensure the sooth enrollment of the students.

On the registration day, the teachers and student volunteers of the orientation work group arrived early at their posts, greeting the new students with great enthusiasm. Every step, from guidance at the school gate，luggage carrying，registration consultation, and material distribution, to dormitory check-in, was carried out smoothly with attentive service. This helped the new students complete the registration process efficiently and truly feel the warmth and care of the college. By 12 noon, the majority of new students had successfully completed their on-campus registration.

At noon, Ma Xianghua, Deputy Secretary of the IC Party Committee, along with the freshman class counselors, visited the new students' dormitories, showing genuine care and asking about their accommodation situations and initial feelings about the university. In the afternoon, a series of freshman orientation activities were held in Conference Room 514. These sessions provided detailed explanations on topics such as life skills, campus civility, and the vanguard role of exemplary students. The teachers patiently answered questions from the new students, effectively helping them to quickly familiarize themselves with the campus environment, enhance their safety awareness, strictly abide by school rules and disciplines, and clarify their future directions. This provided strong guidance for the students as they embarked on their university life.

Meanwhile, IC simultaneously provided services for returning students, simplifying the registration process to facilitate a quick and smooth check-in. Class counselors visited student dormitories to learn about their winter break experiences and current status upon returning to campus. They guided the students to refocus, readjust their pace, and engage in the new semester's studies and life with a positive spirit. They also reminded students to maintain dormitory clean and pay attention to electrical safety and the security of their personal belongings.
