Information Session Held Successfully with the University of Exeter

On the afternoon of March 11, a special information session from the University of Exeter, UK, was held at International College(IC), Xiamen University(XMU). Focusing on the SQA-AD programme, the session provided a systematic introduction to the key information including admission policies for the 2026 September intake, curriculum articulation and progression pathways, establishing a communication platform for students wishing to pursue further study at the university. The event witnessed enthusiastic interaction and a vibrant atmosphere.

In January this year, the University of Exeter officially became a partner institution of the SQA programme, marking the second Russell Group university to join the initiative. This signifies a further upgrade in our college’s international education cooperation.

Eligible students may apply for direct entry to the final year of undergraduate studies, with a strong opportunity to enroll at this world-leading university this September.


Founded in 1855 and granted its Royal Charter in 1955, the University of Exeter boasts more than a century of academic heritage. Situated in the scenic southwest of England, across Exeter and Cornwall, the university has three campuses. Its main Streatham Campus is widely known as one of the most beautiful garden campuses in the UK.

In the 2026 QS World University Rankings, the University of Exeter is placed 155th globally. It was awarded Triple Gold in the UK’s 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), reflecting its world-class teaching quality and outstanding student experience.

The university’s Business School ranks among the top 1% of business schools worldwide, with leading programmes including Accounting and Finance, and Business Management consistently placed in the UK’s top 10. In the 2024–2025 academic year, 23% of undergraduate graduates from the Business School received master’s offers from the UK’s G5 elite universities.


During the information session, Mr. Leon provided a comprehensive overview of the University of Exeter, including programme articulation, admission requirements, and diverse campus life. He highlighted the university's robust international student support system, which offers comprehensive assistance throughout students' entire academic journey. This support framework includes assigning a dedicated academic tutor to each student, providing multilingual tutoring courses, offering on-campus medical services, and arranging airport pickup and orientation assistance for new students. These measures ensure students are fully supported in both their academic pursuits and daily living. In terms of career prospects, the University of Exeter maintains a high employment rate, with its graduates' employment outlook ranking 5th nationwide. The interactive Q&A session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who actively raised questions regarding curriculum design, language exam preparation, overseas life, and further study planning.
