At 7:30p.m. on May 8, “The Voice of The International College”singing contest final was held at the Academic Hall B102, Kun Luan Building. Ten groups of excellent singers who stood out from the previous audition gathered together this evening with their passion and love for music.

After a warm-up performance from school hip-hop dancing club, the host explained the competition system for the judges and the audiences. The contest consists of two parts: one on one competition and performance competition,altogether taking 85% of the final score. In the first round, all the ten group of singers will be divided into two big groups ：Group A and Group B. The score the big groups obtained accounts for 5% of the final score of each group of singers. In the second round, all the singers drew and performed in any ways, and then the professional judges and public judge give their scores, taking up 60%and 40% respectively of the score of each group of singers. The rest 10% of the final score is from online voting on Wechat.

In the first half of one on one competition, Ying Zeng from Group A used her touching voice to make the song Want to be Free extremely intoxicating. While the band called Compounds from Group B brought the song Apologize accompanied on electronic drum, tuba, piano and cello. The song and all these instruments filled so right that won warm applause from time to time. Then a Korean song performed by a Korean group XiujiJin and ZhixiuPiao, Hai Yu Lianfrom Baxi Xiao, Cruel Moonlight from Zijun Huang, The Night of Thinking About you from Virly, a song from Anna, Nataliia and Henrieete with accompaniments by themselves, All of me from Qi Liao，etc. made this evening an acoustic feast for the audience.

During the game time, nine audiences played the game Who Moved my Microphone and showed their undiscovered charming voice, making the tense atmosphere totally disappear. The Campus Top 10 Singers Competition champion Lanxin Chen was also invited to the final and brought us a song with so much Chinese characteristics.

Then on the second half of the competition, all groups of the singers have invited some other singers to be their aid and sing with them. Qi Liao and Ying Zeng sang with their best friends to enhance their performance. Zijun Huang had her song accompanied on a violin，making the performance walk into the audiences’ heart emotionally. Anna has invited two African guys to play the guitar and drums for her, these exotic elements added a charming color to her performance. The Compounds group tried boldly a Korean song named If You, showing their music talents by using guitar instead of tuba. At the end of the competition, Baxi Xiao’s wonderful performance gave it a perfect end.

Considering the scores that 25 public judges and 4 professional judges gave, along with previous scores, Anna won the championship by 85.01 point, Baxi Xiao took the second place by 84.01point, Qi Liao came in the third by 82.74 point. Deputy Party Secretary of Overseas Education College/International College Mr. Weiping Wu and Secretary Ms. Xiaoyan Yang gave awards for the ten groups of the singers. With the joint efforts of all the staff, “The Voice of The International College”singing contest ended successfully.

This year The International College held a series of big events like Mini Expo, International Basketball Game, Model UN and The Voice of The International College. The Voice of The International College particularly reflected the cultural exchanges and showed the profound friendship of the people from all different countries. In this summer evening, music became the purest faith, making us open our mind and go after our dreams. All the voices on the stage connected these microphones, and we are more than happy to sing the world for you!
