Delegates from Monash Art Design and Architecture (MADA) Visited our College

Ms. Maggie Wang, Head of Monash ArtDesign and Architecture (MADA) in China visited the International College of Xiamen University on 5 April. The two parties discussed the possible co-operational programmes, e.g., 2+2 or 3+1 undergraduate programmes, postgraduate programmes as well as teacher-exchange programmesin art and related majors, hoping to expand the scope of Sino-Australian cooperation in art talent cultivation.

The Dean of the Overseas Education College/International College, Prof. Zheng Tongtao, and the Deputy Dean, Ms. Huang Guanhua met the visitors and the meeting was held at 2:30 pm at Room B509 of Kunluan Building. The directors of the Project Department, the Art Teaching and Research Group, and the Admission Office participated in the conference. After a warm welcome, Dean Zheng gave a brief introduction to the recent development of our college and the operation of ourart programme as well as the teaching staff.

During the conference, Dean Zheng made three proposals: 1. cooperation in 2+2 or 3+1 undergraduateprogrammes; 2. teachers’ academic exchanges and training programmes; 3.inviting the dean and department directors of MADA to inspect our school-running capabilities.

Ms. Maggie Wang expressed her ardent support of these proposals. She gave a detailed introduction to MADA and discussed with us about credit-shifting and time-planning of the co-operational programmes. In the end, she invited Dean Zheng to pay a visit to Australia during the first half of this year for implementingof cooperation details.

Founded in 1961, Monash University is a 5-star university and one of the G8 (Group of Eight) of Australia. In the 2015-2016 QS World University Rankings it is ratedthe 67th. MADA is Australia’s top designing institute and is ranked in top 50 in QS World University rankings by Subject of Art and Design.
