On September 26, 2014 Opening Ceremony was held in lecture hall on the first floor of the library. Attendees included Dean of Overseas Education College/International College Professor Zheng Tongtao, Vice-dean FU Wanli, Deputy Party Secretary Wu Weiping,,Director of the Office Huang Guanhuang, all the faculty members and freshmen. The ceremony was presided by Vice-dean Lv Zixuan.

Opening Ceremony began with the majestic national anthem. In his welcome remarks, Professor Zheng hoped all the students cherish the opportunity to study in Xiamen University, follow the rules, develop good study habits as soon as possible and lay a good foundation for studying abroad.

Welcome and wishes were also extended to the new students by lecturer Wang Roujie, students of  HND project Yanyu Hanlin, students of Dublin project Li Lujia, on behalf of all faculty members and students respectively.

Some of the students and staffs were commended for their distinguished performance on military training and study. Professor Zheng later awarded the prize to the winners and posed for photographs with them.

At the end of the ceremony, several alumnus were invited to share their study and life experience,which vividly demonstrates the character of ICer.

The Opening Ceremony successfully concluded in the Anthem of Xiamen University.
